Solo Night Alone.

Almost two years. Two whole years since I’ve been totally alone in my home with only my pets.

It feels really weird and I’m not used to the silence.

Dead silence as I write this.

My husband went to Florida with his brother to fish for a few days before his work picks up again and my son was with Grandma and Grandpa for the day while I worked. Turned out they got my dad scheduled for his first dose of the vaccine away from home so they stayed the night and took my little guy.

A few days before my husband left I tried to think of what I was going to do with the evening to myself. I mean I literally have been with either my son while my husband is on night shift or with my husband. They’re wonderful, obviously.

I made so many plans in my head of things I could do, where I could eat, who I could call, where I could shop.

Know what I did on my one solo night with out them here?

Not a single one of the plans I had played out in my head a few days before.

Instead I kept to myself and just truly had a night to myself.

I enjoyed every single minute of it too.

I first reorganized all of my kitchen cabinets because of baby items now being replaced with toddler stuff. Then I cleaned up the hidden dog poop from the winter that has now thawed. My dog decided she needed to roll in deer poop while I did that so she got a spa day afterwards and completely scrubbed down. Then I tossed a bunch of stuff that was bothering me in the kitchen, because I can and no one can yell at me not to. 😊

Then for the best part of my day. I began a new Netflix series and ordered myself sushi and some Chinese food for lunch to cover the next few days.

Of course I treated myself. I had to include the mom stuff that I so enjoyed (not the poop clean up crew part) without anyone else in the house too because that’s also part of my “me night.”

WOW.

Almost 2 whole years since I’ve had a night like that. I loved it. I almost finished the first season of the show and I don’t regret a single thing.

My pup and cat also did too. They got all of my love and snuggles without having to share.

I might have to schedule myself one of these more often. 😉
